Dear friends,

We just received notice from the U.S 2009 Tour Team today that Thay is ill.  Due to this unexpected news, we are very sorry to announce that Thay will not be able to attend the retreat at Magnolia Village.  However, the retreat will still go on as schedule along with 24 Monk and Nuns.

We wish all of you to have steady practice to breathe, smile, and happiness in order to deal with fortunate and unfortunate events that will occur in our daily lives.

Please let us know if you are still able to attend the retreat so we can make prior arrangements. Thank you for your understanding of the circumstance.  We hope to see you at the retreat.

Sincerely,

Magnolia Village Sangha,
Ben Ho

Someone talks about their experience at Dharma Sunday's meditation group
..... January 2009

I usually go to that meditation group, although somehow I have been out of town every weekend since Thanksgiving...and will be out of town for the next month as well.... so I will not be there Sunday, but in general, it's a very congenial group - very friendly, very laid back, and enjoys having beginners.  We meditate for 40 minutes starting around 9, then do a little walking meditation, then usually talk or read a book.  40 minutes can be a long time for a beginner, but you can stop early if you wish.  It's a smallish group (waxes and wanes between about 10 to 3 people), so things are very flexible.  VERY rarely, no one is there at all.  I think I should mention this so that if you come and this is the case, you won't think you're at the wrong place or at the wrong time.  John's Sunday night class (which meets at the same place) is also really great for beginners.

Everyone is invited to come every Sunday morning. Please check the website, or please consider joining the Dharma Memphis Yahoo mailing list for regular updates as there are rare occasions that the Sun Yoga studio is unavailable, and we try to make sure that everyone gets a heads up prior to Sunday.
