Buddhist Education

Ashoka - the eDharma University
http://www.ashokaedu.net/
Incorporating the teachings of the Buddha into our lives nourishes what the Dalai Lama calls "our inner dimension" and encourages the practice of peace and generosity. Ashoka courses offer a rich mixture of reading, listening (audio), viewing (video), contemplation, and meditation. Their courses guide and encourage you to reflect on and apply what you are learning. Topics will range from basics of Buddhist thought and practices to in-depths studies of teachings and writings. Bringing together their finest teachers from a broad range of traditions and lineages. Ashoka will be a single gate to a rich mandala of teachers and teachings. They're working with their teachers to create courses designed for Web delivery on Ashoka.

Tibetan Buddhist healing practices
LAMA SURYA DAS

Tibetan Buddhism has a long tradition of healing. The practice is often called the secret teachings of Tibet or self-secret, meaning that the truth may be hidden, but it’s always there for those ready to perceive it. In Tibetan Buddhism, there are healing practices that activate your innate inner Light, allowing you to enter into your sacred zone of freedom and happiness. During this healing weekend retreat, you will be immersed in Lama Surya Das’ teachings and practices of Tibetan Buddhism including:

-Traditional healing Buddha meditations
-Creative imagination-visualization practices
-Longevity practices
-Energy yoga and breath meditations
-Kum-ney massage
-Prayers, chants and mantras

Learn to apply these secret teachings to work with your inner Light and innate heat and soul. This leads to wisdom and compassion, the answer to all that ails us. The Buddha teachings say "I the teacher, am like a doctor; my teaching, the liberating Dharma, is like medicine; the sangha (students and followers) are like patients.” Through these practices you will activate a deep healing and inner peace that can alleviate anxiety, stress, confusion and dis-ease.

Whether you are new to Tibetan Buddhism or continuing in this spiritual healing art, Lama Surya Das will share new meaningful teachings to deepen your awareness and guide your practice. Lama Surya Das’ lively and learned skillful guidance, as received by him through the initiations of his own Tibetan gurus, will further you along in this inner healing art.
